Killeen, TX (3/22/2021) – A crash early Monday morning left one driver dead and another seriously injured.
The accident happened around 6 a.m. in the area of Fort Hood Street and Westover Drive. A Nissan Sentra headed southbound on Fort Hood Street was struck by a northbound Ford F-150 pickup after he crossed into the southbound lane. The two collided and both vehicles came to a rest in a grassy area.
One of the drivers was trapped in the wreckage.
Brandon Waterbury, 21, was sent to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the pickup, was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple in serious condition.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
