Driver Killed in Crash Involving Two 18-Wheeler Trucks

Driver-Killed-in-Crash-Involving-Two-18-Wheeler-TrucksSan Antonio, TX (June 26, 2019) – On Monday night a man died after a crash involving two 18-wheeler trucks in San Antonio, Texas.

The car accident happened Monday around 7:30 p.m. Gerardo Martinez Ortiz was driving his white Chevrolet Silverado on Interstate 10 near Loop 1604.

Mr. Ortiz slowed down due to traffic in the area when he was struck from behind by a driver in a Freightliner 18-wheeler truck traveling at a high rate of speed. The impact pushed the truck forward into another 18-wheeler’s trailer.

Mr. Ortiz was pronounced dead the scene.

A passenger inside the vehicle was transported to the hospital.

No charges have been filed at this time.  The crash remains under investigation and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
