Austin, TX (7/9/2021) – A driver was killed by a car in southeast Austin on Friday in a fatal roadside accident.
The accident happened around 11:04 a.m. when a Jeep Wrangler and a box truck were merging into the center lane on E. Ben White Boulevard at the same time a driver, 40-year-old Miguel Guerrero-Garcia, was removing bags of mulch from the roadway that had fallen off his trailer. While the two vehicles were merging, the driver’s side of the Jeep scraped the passenger side of the box truck, which caused the Jeep to travel in the outside lane and strike Guerrero-Garcia.
Guerrero-Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Roadside Accident Lawyers
Roadside accidents is a fatal type of accident that can result from several scenarios. A negligent driver may not have noticed your parked car on the road’s shoulder and sideswiped it or completely rear-ended you. Similarly, and much more catastrophic, a driver may not see you outside your disabled car and hits you. A careless driver may also be swerving between lanes, causing them to hit your vehicle. For the case above, a merging incident resulted in the fatal death of a driver.
