Houston, TX (6/25/2020) – A driver is dead and two women are now injured after a wreck involving a drunk driver Wednesday morning.
The car accident happened on U.S. 290 near Antoine Drive. A separate crash between a Nissan and a box truck were blocking lanes around 12:30 a.m. when a Jeep traveling at high speeds crashed into the separate crash scene.
The Nissan driver and her passenger were both trapped in the car. Firefighters and good Samaritans had to pry the two women out of the car.
The Nissan driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Two female passengers suffered minor injuries.
The Jeep’s driver was taken to a nearby hospital, but he apparently fled from paramedics before he was admitted. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
The dangers of drunk driving are well known. The impairment caused by alcohol consumption frequently leads to devastating vehicle collisions which often result in incapacitating injuries and even deaths. Because the alleged drunk driver inflicted injuries on two women and killed the Nissan driver, the right for the three victims to file a personal injury claim and a wrongful death claim is substantial. To do so, it’s important to consult legal counsel while you file your claim since insurance companies may trick you into settling with little to no money.
The best way to make sure you are treated fairly after your car accident is to hire a lawyer who knows the law and who is willing to fight to make sure that you are treated fairly. Don’t settle for just any lawyer. Hire a lawyer who has the experience and resources necessary to take on an insurance company. At Sutliff & Stout that is exactly what we do.
