Beaumont, TX (1/9/2021) – A multiple-vehicle wreck left one man dead late Saturday evening.
The accident happened around 11 p.m. on U.S. 90 near Rice Field Road in Jefferson County. A Hyundai SUV was headed eastbound while an Acura passenger vehicle was headed southbound. The Acura failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and drove into the path of the Hyundai. The Hyundai then struck the passenger side of the Acura.
The driver of the Acura, 29-year-old Edgar Espinosa, was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
The driver of the Hyundai, 20-year-old Cameryn Vaughan, was transported by ambulance to Baptist hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Driving with Negligence
Failing to yield at a stop sign is a violation of Texas roadway laws and a clear indication of negligence. If someone commits an act of negligence, and it results in injury, the victim has a right to file a claim for personal injury. In the car accident above, both personal injury and wrongful death occurred for the occupants of the vehicles.
