Driver, Teenager Hospitalized after Deadly Rollover Crash

El Paso, TX (12/16/2019) – Two people are injured after a rollover collision occurred in El Paso Thursday night.

The wreck happened in the 6400 block of South Desert near Artcraft. According to investigators, a Hummer sped past another vehicle when it sideswiped a small SUV. The Hummer swerved out of control and rolled several times.

The driver of the Hummer, 22-year-old Arturo Meza, was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Meza’s passenger, a 15-year-old boy, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A second passenger fled from the scene on foot.

The driver of the SUV and his four passengers were not injured in the accident.

Speed and alcohol are factors in this collision.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
