Drivers Killed after Deadly Wreck in San Angelo

San Angelo, TX (8/2/2021) – Two people were killed after a fatal wreck Monday morning. 

The accident happened on the Houston Harte Expressway and Caddo Street around 1:30 a.m. when a driver of a disabled SUV ran onto the expressway and was struck by a second vehicle. The second vehicle then veered off the road and struck a large sign. 

Both drivers died from their injuries at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was identified as Raphael Salas, 45, of Del Rio. The identity of the second driver remains unknown.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
