FREEPORT (October 23, 2o18)– Around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday a bus crashed in Freeport, Texas.
The Freeport Police Department report that the bus was carrying about 30 Zachary Construction employees. Early reports indicate the bus fishtailed, the back wheels lost traction causing the bus to turn to overturn. The bus skidded and roll over into a ditch filled with water. The bus accident took place on Highway 36 near the Brazos River, an hour south of Houston. A heavy-duty tow truck was able to pull the commercial vehicle out of the water.
At this time police have stated one person has died and several others are injured following the crash. There is an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the bus accident and the individuals involved.
UPDATE: Authorities have identified 29-year old Aaron Green of Dayton died in the accident. About 30 people were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Lake Jackson.
