Ellis County, TX (12/14/2020) – A collision between a passenger van and a semi-truck left two people dead and two others injured on Monday.
The accident occurred on Interstate 35E in south Ellis County around 5:30 p.m. Following the collision, a van was crushed underneath the back of the semi-truck. The hood, driver and front passenger section were crushed, with a part of the roof peeled back to the middle of the vehicle.
Two people were killed as a result of the wreck.
A critically injured person was taken to the hospital via helicopter.
Another injured person was taken to the hospital via ambulance.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
