Waco, TX (8/23/2021) – A fiery crash fatally killed a high school student and two other people, and left one person injured.
The accident happened just after 2:20 a.m. on U.S. 84 near Prairie Hill. A Kia Optima driven by 17-year-old Melanna Robinson was headed west when she crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head on with a Nissan Versa. The Versa then caught fire.
Robinson as well as a driver and a passenger in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger from the Kia was sent to the hospital for their injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led to the accident, and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
