Nacogdoches, TX (1/15/2021) – Four people were killed in a vehicle wreck that happened in Nacogdoches County.
The accident happened early Friday morning around 3:30 a.m. when two vehicles collided head-on. A Chevrolet SUV driven by 63-year-old Ira Caraway was headed south when a Nissan car driven by 32-year-old Vanessa Sowell was headed north. For unknown reasons, Caraway drove her SUV into the northbound lanes and struck the Nissan.
Caraway was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sowell and her passengers, 41-year-old Damien Davis and 31-year-old Christian Dodd, were also pronounced dead at the scene.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
