Corpus Christi, TX (8/30/2020) – A red light runner caused a fatal accident that left one dead and many injured Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened at the intersection of South Padre Island Drive and Everhart Road. A Jeep ran a red light at an intersection, which caused the Jeep to be t-boned by another driver who had the right-of-way. Four vehicles in total were involved in the crash.
The driver of the Jeep was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The other drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Running a red light at a traffic stop is a violation of Texas roadway laws, and a clear indication of negligence.
