Houston, TX (5/4/2020) – A Houston officer was fatally killed and another was critically injured after a police helicopter crash Saturday morning.
The accident happened around 2 a.m. when a pilot and tactical flight officer were in a helicopter searching for bodies in a bayou. They were flying over when it crashed into an apartment complex.
Tactical Flight Officer Jason Knox was killed.
The pilot, Chase Cormier, remains in critical condition.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
