Hood County, TX (7/10/2021) – A teenager was killed in a fatal ATV crash Saturday morning in Hood County.
The accident happened around 1:19 a.m. on Bolton Road. An ATV went into a barrow ditch, where it overturned and struck a fence.
Passenger Payton Herman, 18, died as a result of his injuries after being sent to the hospital. He was a recent Godley High School graduate.
Herman’s sister, 21-year-old Caitlin Herman, and the 21-year-old driver of the vehicle, Kayleb Erwin, also suffered injuries in the accident. They were sent to local Fort Worth hospitals.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
