Dallas, Texas (July 25, 2022) – A man pushing a woman in a wheelchair was killed on Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle. The woman in the wheelchair is currently suffering from critical injuries and is said to be “fighting for her life.”
The incident occurred on Forest Lane near Cromwell Drive in Dallas. Local authorities say the driver struck the pair, leaving the woman critically injured, but drove several blocks with the man on the hood of his vehicle. The man ultimately fell off the hood near Marsh Lane.
Police say that a witness followed the suspect’s vehicle for roughly three miles to an apartment complex near the Northwest Highway. This is where police found the vehicle and arrested the driver. His identity has not been released publicly at this time. Dallas police have said the suspect is a man in his 70s and is currently facing charges of causing serious bodily injury and accident causing death.
The investigation into this accident remains ongoing with police reviewing camera footage as possible evidence.
