Houston, Texas (Aug. 10, 2022) – A man was killed on Wednesday morning after a 19-year-old driver failed to yield the right of way while pulling out from a stop sign.
Houston Police say the incident happened in the 1100 block of Monroe Road near the Beltway at roughly 6:40 a.m. The victim, a 56-year-old male, was driving a black Nissan Maxima when a white Ford Explorer pulled in front of him.
The collision caused the Nissan to hit a tree, before coming to stop against support poles at a nearby gas station. The victim survived the initial crash, but later died at HCA Clear Lake Hospital.
The driver of the Ford suffered no major injuries according to police and was released after questioning.
