Little Girl Injured after Truck Crashes into Home

Kerrville, TX (8/10/2020) – A girl is now injured after a pickup truck crashed into her bedroom Thursday night in Kerrville.

According to news reports, Isaac Barboza Jr., 23, was driving his white Ford F-250 around 11 p.m. when he veered off the road and crashed into a house on Leland. He crashed into a bedroom, pinning an 8-year-old girl underneath his vehicle.

The girl was freed from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Barboza was arrested and charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

According to Texas law, an Intoxication Assault involves a person who commits an offense if the person, by accident or mistake, operates a motor vehicle in a public place while intoxicated, by reason of that intoxication causes serious bodily injury to another. Serious bodily injury means an injury that creates a substantial risk of death or that causes serious permanent disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ.
