Little Girl Killed in Chain-Reaction Crash

Sulphur Springs, TX (10/23/2020) – A chain-reaction crash in Sulphur Springs left one little girl dead on Friday morning.

The accident happened when Jason Cooley and his four-year-old passenger were headed back to Texas from Arkansas. As they approached a construction zone, an F-150 truck slammed into them from behind. This then caused Cooley to strike a caravan.

The four-year-old girl was killed at the scene.

The driver of the Honda has been identified by state officials as 34-year-old Pascual Dela-Cruz. He was transported to a Lake Charles hospital for treatment.

Two other passengers were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

As a result of the accident, one child was fatally killed due to a car that refused to reduce their speed. Because of this, the family of the child is entitled to wrongful death claims.
