Starks, LA (10/22/2019) – James Edgar Wilson, 67, from Orange, Texas is now dead after he struck a logging truck head-on.
The accident happened shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. According to Louisiana State Police, Wilson was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu going east on Louisiana Highway 12.
The driver of a 2013 International 18-wheeler, or logging truck, was headed west when Wilson veered into the westbound lane. Wilson steered back into the east lane, but struck the front of the 18-wheeler.
Wilson sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the logging truck sustained minor injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
