Pedestrian Accident Lawyer
Pedestrians can be struck anywhere, anytime by a vehicle, semi-truck, bicycle, or motorcycle. According to the NHTSA, there was more than a 3% increase in the number of pedestrians killed in traffic crashes in 2018, totaling 6,283 deaths. In addition, an alarming number of pedestrian accidents occur when pedestrians occupy the side of a highway.
Due to the nature of the incident, the surviving family of Gonzales is entitled to a wrongful death claim against the driver of the vehicle. According to Texas law, a pedestrian has the right of way when crossing an intersection at a crosswalk. If it is found that Gonzales was crossing the street at a crosswalk, the right to receive a wrongful death claim remains substantial.
