Man Killed after Roadside Crash in El Paso

El Paso, TX (9/19/2021) – A man was killed in an afternoon crash on Sunday in El Paso.

The accident happened along Spur 601 around 7 a.m. when a pickup truck broke down along the roadway and was then struck by another car from behind. His truck was then pushed into another pickup that had stopped to help him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 74-year-old Martin Telesforo Lopez. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
