Man Killed by Hit-and-Run after Helping Crash Victim

Houston, TX (12/5/2020) – A man was fatally killed in a hit-and-run accident after trying to help another driver after a crash in Houston late Saturday. 

The accident happened in southwest Houston around 10:15 p.m. when an SUV turning on Almeda Road near Mowery was struck by a Hyundai Veloster going at high speeds. The Veloster caught fire and the SUV driver went to help the driver. As the SUV driver was outside his vehicle, a Ford F-150 came by and struck the SUV driver. He was dragged 30 feet by the Ford.

The SUV driver was killed at the scene.

The Veloster driver was taken to the hospital. 

Police are searching for the Ford truck driver. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
