Smith County, TX (3/26/2021) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck south of Lindale on Friday.
The accident happened on US 69 when a Toyota Camry headed south made an unsafe left turn in front of a northbound Chevy Suburban.
The driver of the Camry, 58-year-old Israel Soto, was killed at the scene.
The driver of the Suburban, 58-year-old Deena Carole Turvaville, was taken to a Tyler hospital.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Driving with Negligence
Negligent driving is wholly apparent in the situation above. Making an unsafe left turn is a blatant traffic violation and almost always leads to accidents. The Camry failed to wait for the Suburban to pass, and a collision occurred, causing the death of a driver and another driver injured.
