Man Killed after Fatal Boating Accident off Colorado River

Matagorda County, TX (5/3/2021) – A man who went missing after a collision between a crew boat and a submerged object has been found on Monday.

The incident happened around 5 a.m. Saturday near the mouth of the Colorado River and Matagorda Bay. Five people were on board a boat that struck a piling in the water.

Two people were killed as a result of the collision. One, who was found Monday, was identified as 24-year-old Jacob Langley.

Texas Parks and Wildlife personnel were able to recover the remaining three people from the water.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
