League City, TX (10/28/2020) – A man was killed after a driver caused a fatal crash in League City on Wednesday.
The accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. on I-45 Gulf Freeway feeder road at League City Parkway. Keniqua Pleasant, 19, was exiting the freeway when she collided with the back of another vehicle driven by 46-year-old Jeremy Campbell. Campbell’s vehicle was pushed into traffic and hit by a third vehicle. That caused Cambell’s vehicle to jump over a retaining wall where it slammed into a bulldozer at a construction site.
Campbell was killed at the scene.
Pleasant fled the scene.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Under Texas law, a hit-and-run accident is referred to as “leaving the scene.” These accidents involve any driver who knowingly hits a vehicle and intentionally drives off, failing to leave his or her contact information, call for help, or render aid.
For the case above, the family of Jeremy Campbell has a right to file a wrongful death claim against Keniqua Pleasant.
