Orangefield, TX (3/5/2021) – A two-vehicle wreck near Bridge City left one person killed and a child injured in Orange County.
The accident happened between a dump truck and a Honda passenger vehicle on FM 408 around 8:15 a.m. As both vehicles were navigating a curve, the Honda traveled into the northbound traffic lane and was struck by a Tractor & Dump Truck Services truck. The dump truck was left hanging off the roadway.
The two occupants in the Honda, 29-year-old Christopher Cooksey and an infant, suffered injuries.
Cooksey was killed at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The infant was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital for observation.
The driver of the dump truck, a 58-year-old resident of Orange, was not injured in the crash.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
