Man Killed, Teenager Injured after Head-On Collision in Gatesville

Gatesville, TX (7/18/2021) – A man was killed and a teenager was injured in a head-on collision Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on FM 1783 west of FM 116. A Dodge Ram pickup headed west on FM 1783 crossed over the center line around a curve and collided head-on with a Honda Civic. 

The victim was identified as Shawn Eric Lindsey, 45. 

The driver of the Dodge, a 16-year-old girl, was transported to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
