Harris County, TX (9/4/2021) – A man was killed and a woman was seriously hurt after a crash near Houston.
The accident happened around midnight on Highway 249 and Breen Drive. A car was stopped in the northbound turn lane when a pickup veered out of its lane and struck the car.
A passenger in the car was killed as a result. He was identified as Mike Martinez, 36.
The driver of the car, Brenda Martinez, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the truck showed signs of intoxication. The driver of the truck, identified as Donnovan Garcia, will be charged with intoxication manslaughter and aggravated assault.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
