Mother of Little Girl Killed in Vehicle Wreck, Father Caused Wreck

Houston, TX (5/20/2020) – The mother of a 6-year-old girl was killed in a crash late Monday night.

The accident happened along Texas Highway 249 around 11:45 p.m. near Lakewood Crossing. A vehicle driven by Eric Bahr was headed southbound when he lost control and drove into a light pole.

The mother, who was a passenger, was killed. She was identified as Melissa Wendt.

A good Samaritan rescued the little girl who was riding in the vehicle.

The father has been charged with murder. He showed signs of impairment at the time of the wreck.

Both the father and girl were airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
