Longview, TX (3/4/2021) – A man was killed and a woman was injured in a fatal crash south of Longview Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 4:38 p.m. near FM 2087 and FM 2011. A pickup truck was headed southbound on FM 2087 and turning east onto FM 2011 when it failed to yield the right-of-way and struck a motorcycle headed north on FM 2087.
The impact ejected the occupants of the motorcycle – a man and a woman.
The man, 41-year-old Robert William Burns, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman, 42-year-old Jennifer Lea Burns, was taken to Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the pickup, 79-year-old Travis Nathan Mobbs, was not injured.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
