Harris County, TX (3/20/2021) – A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday in a fatal wreck on Beltway 8.
The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. on the Beltway near Tidwell. The motorcycle was southbound on the feeder when a Mazda 3 crossed several lanes in an attempt to turn into a driveway. As a result, the Mazda struck the motorcycle, sending the motorcycle into a curb before it crashed into a utility pole.
The driver of the Mazda was believed to be intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man, was killed at the scene.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
