Smith County, TX (9/1/2021) – A man was killed in a head-on collision with a motorcycle near Winona Wednesday night.
The accident happened on State Highway 155 around 9:03 p.m. when a Chrysler 200 struck an Indian motorcycle head-on. Payton Shaw, 18, was driving her Chrysler north on SH 155 while 44-year-old Tommy Anderson was driving his motorcycle south in the northbound lane. The two ultimately collided with each other since Shaw “could not see the motorcycle.”
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shaw was taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
