Cherokee County, TX (8/9/2021) – A two-vehicle crash left one person dead and three people injured near Cuney Monday morning.
The accident happened on US-175 around 6:12 a.m. when a Dodge Durango headed east crossed over into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Ford Fiesta headed west.
A passenger in the Ford, 68-year-old Cheryl Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, 43-year-old Angela Washington, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the Durango, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
