Hallsville, TX (3/27/2021) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a three-vehicle wreck on Tuesday.
The accident happened around 5:15 p.m. on US 80. A Mercedes headed east on US 80 struck the rear of an eastbound Kia that was stopped to turn left into a private drive. The impact caused the Kia to travel into a westbound lane, where it was then struck by a Ford SUV.
The driver of the Kia, 23-year-old Devin Tariq Stanfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes, 43-year-old Jared David Stevens, was taken to the hospital. He remains stable.
The driver of the Ford was identified as Sandra James Ingram, 80. Ingram was taken to a Longview medical center and is stable.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
