Amarillo, TX (1/30/2021) – One person is dead and two people were sent to the hospital after a single-vehicle wreck occurred on Saturday.
The accident happened near Umbarger when a Ford F-150 drifted between multiple lanes due to high winds. The Ford tried to overcorrect, then lost control and drove into a ditch. The vehicle rolled.
The driver, Diego Tomas, and a four-year-old passenger were ejected from the vehicle.
Dimmitt later died at the hospital due to his injuries.
The four-year-old and a second passenger, 24-year-old Iris Ocon-Zubia, were taken to a hospital in Amarillo with serious injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
