Jasper, TX (9/10/2020) – A person suffered serious injuries after an accident occurred on the Sam Rayburn Dam.
The accident happened Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m. on Recreational Road 255. Maegan Moorhead, 20, was driving her Ford truck eastbound when she failed to control her speed and crashed into upcoming traffic. She crashed into the rear of another Ford truck. That truck then crashed into the rear of a Toyota Tundra.
Moorhead was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to St Elizabeth Hospital.
The driver of the Toyota truck, Roy Sanford, sustained injuries and drove himself to the hospital.
The driver of the second Ford truck, Paul Davidson, and his passengers were not injured.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Most people consider rear-end car accidents to be minor. Often, these collisions occur in bumper-to-bumper traffic, in a parking lot, or in other situations when cars are moving at low speeds. When rear-end car accidents occur at high speeds, they can result in severe injuries and are sometimes fatal.
Nobody wants to be in a car accident, even those who drive aggressively. If you’re in any collision, whether it be a rear-end accident or another type – be sure to contact experienced and accomplished personal injury attorneys like those at Sutliff & Stout.
