One Person Injured after Single-Plane Crash in Mesquite

Mesquite, TX (4/27/2020) – One person was injured in a plane crash Thursday afternoon in Mesquite.

The accident happened around 3:35 p.m. in a field near Lawson and Scyene roads, near the Mesquite Metro Airport.

A man was flying a single-engine Pilatus PC-12 when the plane crashed. He was found and taken to the hospital where he remains in stable condition.

According to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford, the pilot reported a loss of engine power.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
