Cypress, TX (2/1/2021) – A deadly crash on Highway 290 left one person dead and another injured.
The incident happened on Hwy 290 near Huffmeister in northwest Harris County around 2:54 a.m.
A Chevrolet Tahoe drove in multiple lanes then struck the inside divider that separates the eastbound lanes from the HOV lane. The car rolled.
A passenger was ejected from the Tahoe. He was killed at the scene.
The driver was taken to Ben Taub Hospital.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
According to the NHTSA, rollover crashes are more likely to result in fatalities than any other types of crashes, and that most fatal rollover crashes are single vehicle crashes.
