One Person Killed, Another Person Injured in Wrong-way Collision in Colorado City

Colorado City, TX (5/8/2020) – One person was killed and another was injured after a wrong-way wreck in Mitchell County.

The accident happened Wednesday morning around 10:40 a.m. when a Freightliner tractor-trailer headed west on I-20 went through the median and crashed into a Buick Verano. The truck went into a ditch and rolled, ejecting 63-year-old Humberto Ramirez Molina. Officials say a defective front tire on the trailer may have contributed to the crash.

The Buick driver, 40-year-old Shadyne Santrice Pittman, was transported by air to United Medical Center with serious injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
