Baytown, TX (5/21/2021) – A street racing incident led to the death of a man and a person critically injured Friday in the Baytown area.
The incident happened on FM 1942 at North Main around 7:30 p.m.
A vehicle was racing a Dodge Challenger side-by-side. The vehicle, driven by a 19-year-old, lost control and crashed into two other vehicles.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Dodge fled the scene.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
