Shelby County, TX (7/22/2020) – Two occupants are now injured after a one-vehicle crash occurred Wednesday morning in Shelby County.
The accident happened on FM 417, west of FM 2694. At around 8:15 a.m., a BMW was traveling west at unsafe speeds when it crossed over the eastbound lane and drove off the road. It then struck a tree. First responders used emergency extrication tools to free the two occupants from the car.
The driver was identified as 19-year-old Jonathon Gomez. He was taken to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for treatment.
A passenger was also taken to the hospital for treatment. He was identified as 16-year-old Adrian Aparicio.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
