Passenger Killed in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash

Dallas, TX (11/26/2020) – A passenger was killed after being involved in a single-vehicle crash.

The accident happened on U.S. Highway 75 near Forest Lane around 1 a.m. Thursday morning when a 27-year-old driver swerved her car and struck a light pole. The car struck a concrete wall before coming to a stop.

The passenger, 33-year-old Stephania Ruiz, was killed as a result of the crash. 

The driver of the car, whose name has not been released, is now hospitalized and being treated. She has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
