Trinity County, TX (3/7/2021) – A passenger was killed in a fatal single-vehicle crash on Sunday north of Apple Springs.
The accident happened on FM 357 around 2 a.m. when a Dodge pickup was traveling at unsafe speeds. The vehicle drove off the roadway to the right, crossed back over the road, and then hit a tree. The pickup then caught fire.
The driver, 29-year-old Blake Partain, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was taken into custody for Intoxication Manslaughter.
The passenger, 29-year-old Chelsea McBride, was killed at the scene.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
