Passenger Killed, Two Others Injured in T-Bone Crash

El Paso, TX (7/28/2021) – A two-car crash Tuesday morning left two people dead in Northeast El Paso. 

The accident occurred on Loma de Plata Drive in North Hills around 8 a.m. A Mini Cooper was headed north on Dyer Street and turning left onto Ameen when it was struck by a southbound Dodge Charger. Both cars ended up on the side of the road. 

Anita Ellen Marenius, 66, who was a passenger in the car, died at the scene and the driver, Dennis Edmund Marenius, 65, died at a hospital.

The driver of the Dodge was identified by police as 23-year-old Keanu Canady. Canady was taken by ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
