Pedestrian Fatally Struck, Killed by Vehicle

North Austin, TX (9/15/2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in North Austin earlier this month.

The accident happened Sept. 15 around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Ferguson Lane and Cameron Road. A Ford F-55- was headed west when it attempted to turn northbound while at a red light. While the truck was turning, a pedestrian attempted to cross Ferguson Lane in the crosswalk. The truck failed to yield the right of way and struck the pedestrian. 

The pedestrian who was struck was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. She was identified as 39-year-old Martina Venacio-Cabrera. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
