Bell County, TX (8/17/2020) – A Good Samaritan that was assisting a collision was hit and killed by a passing vehicle Wednesday night.
The incident happened on IH-14 at the Willow Springs overpass around 8:40 p.m. A motorist, 22-year-old Jakob Aton, pulled over to assist with a crash and provide traffic control. That’s when a Chevrolet Cruz came by and was unable to avoid the collision. The truck struck Aton.
Aton was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
