Houston, Texas (Sept. 26, 2022) – A driver fled the scene of a rollover hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian who was walking nearby.
Police say the crash happened in the 9500 block of Clearwood, near Almeda Genoa early Monday morning.
The driver, who has yet to be identified, was driving a Dodge Charger, when she lost control and hit a pole, killing the pedestrian. It was not made immediately clear where the pedestrian was at the time of the crash.
According to officials, three passengers were in the vehicle, as they remained on the scene following the accident. The passengers said they had met the driver earlier in the evening at a local club.
HPD have determined that speed was likely a factor in this accident, but are yet unsure if the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Local authorities are searching for the driver and the investigation remains ongoing.
