Arlington, TX (5/7/2021) – A person was killed and two others were injured early Thursday morning after a wrong-way collision in Arlington.
The accident happened around 2:52 a.m. on Matlock Road. Bronson Kibler, 21, was headed north on Matlock Road when he crossed the median, struck a light pole, and then continued north in the southbound lanes before hitting another car head-on.
A passenger in Kibler’s car, 22-year-old Jamayiah Lazada Sargent, was killed at the scene. A second passenger, an infant, was unharmed.
The occupants in the car that was struck were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Kibler also suffered serious injuries, where he remains at a hospital for treatment.
Arlington police said Kibler is under arrest and will face one count of intoxication manslaughter and two charges of intoxication assault.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
