Hedley, TX (1/28/2020) – A man is now dead after a fatal collision late Monday morning.
The accident occurred around 10 a.m. on US 287 in Hedley. A truck was waiting on a vehicle turning off a road when another truck headed east swerved to avoid the waiting party of vehicles. That’s when a truck headed west tried to avoid the swerving truck but was hit on the driver side.
The driver of the truck headed west, 43-year-old Ronald Simpkins, died at the scene.
A passenger in the truck headed east, 52-year-old Keith Williams, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
