Semi-Truck Wreck Left One Dead, Another Injured

Madisonville, TX (1/6/2021) – A wreck between two semi-trucks left one driver dead and another injured.

The accident happened Wednesday morning around 3:00 a.m. on I-45. One semi-truck struck the rear of another semi-truck during slowed traffic. 

The driver of the semi that struck the second semi was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 51-year-old Michael Applon.

The driver of the semi that was hit received non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
